keris is a knife, asymmetric typical of Indonesia. Both weapon and spiritual object, keris are considered to have magical powers. Keris known early tenth century and most likely spread from Java to the rest of Southeast Asia.

Unfortunately why Indonesian culture has been recognized Unesco third coming from Java Indonesia is not just Java but, hopefully later another Indonesian culture of Sumatra, Bali, island Komodo, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua Asmat, small sunda etc. are also recognized by Unesco.
